Formal Dressing for Women

Formal dressing is always a great responsibility because if you go wrong you are not just dressed badly, you also make a wrong impression in your work place which might affect your future prospects at work. Hence, it has to be carefully chosen so that it makes the right impression and portrays you in the right light at work.
Dressing code in the formal section are very different for men and women; while for women there are set codes for what is right and what is wrong, it is not like that for men. Women know that they cannot wear sleeveless tops in office wear and they know that their clothes cannot be too revealing – the bottom line is that there is a protocol which is clear and defined. For men, there are several rules but nothing really defines men’s formal dressing.

The most important formal dressing for men is the men’s suits, also called as the business suits which make the best impression amongst all the formal dressing of men. Other formal dressing includes shirt and trousers (without the jacket) and in some places, formal shirt with casual trousers though this hasn’t really picked up yet.
Hence the suit it is and it is the suit which defines a men’s formal dressing at work. Men also wear suits at a lot of occasions such as weddings, parties, formal occasions, church and many other such places. Thus there are the business suits, the designer suits, the vintage suits, the dress suits and the church suits. It is good to accessorise your suit with things like the hat and men’s jewellery like the cuff links and the tie pins to enhance their beauty. A handkerchief in the side pocket also looks the same.
In all these, the most important of all are the business suits because this is where, as we talked about, lies a lot of responsibility. The business suit is really more a matter of colour and fit than it is about the design. This is because the design is always simple, business like without being too frivolous or jazzy. However the suit needs to fit you well, especially at the shoulders and at the cuffs. Imagine a business suit with droopy shoulders and sleeves that will fall off. Imagine the amount of disrespect to work it communicates to a person who meets you for the first time. The lack of power is implied there as well. The colour of your business suit also matters a lot. You cannot have it in yellow or red or any of the pastel shades. The colour has to be navy blue or black or grey, in all these colours navy blue imparts the utmost power.
You can unleash your imagination wild with designer suits because this is what you wear to parties and to churches and also to exhibitions and even on dates (sometimes). Here you can choose your colours, designs and cuts. You can even have motifs or logos on your jackets €” it’s all what you want!
So go ahead, find a suit you want and make an impression at work and also in your personal life, but remember one thing, don’t mix the two!
