Wedding venues are just as important to take your time selecting your dress for if not more so. This is the location of the wedding or at least the reception. It is a good idea to invest some time in comparing several locations and determining how well these locations fit not only your ideal theme and style but also your budget. When it comes to choosing the right location, though, there are five things you want to look for or ask for before making a decision.
1. Start with the size and the overall functional benefits of the space. A quality wedding venue offers enough seating and room for dancing, socializing and gifts. The key looking door is an open layout rather than one with lots of walls or dividers. You want an open feel so you have a truly social location.
2. Consider the outdoors, too. This is something many do not consider, but find out if there is ample parking not only for your event, but any other event that may be occurring at the same time. You also want to consider any features that make the location especially inviting, such as a gazebo for pictures or areas for smokers to relax in.
3. Not all locations have onsite catering services, or they may not have a true kitchen. This can be a problem. What is particularly important is that any location you choose needs to have a true refrigeration system to ensure that food can be safely stored so no one gets sick. Find out what type of kitchen is available and look at it. Is it clean and up to code?
4. Bar service is not always available through all wedding venues, but this is something your guests may be looking for. Find out what the options are for alcohol (if you plan to offer it) as well as if it is an open or paid bar, and if it is staffed by the facility or if that is extra as well.
5. Staffing needs can range based on the size of your event. However, you may want to meet the head of the staff to ensure you get an idea of what level of professionalism is present. You want to ensure that the team will be readily available, working hard and will have a smile on their face to greet your guests. All of these factors are very important.
The right wedding venues meet your needs. One thing many do not realize is that you can often ask for additional services or change up what you need, if you ask for it. You can also negotiate the price down, to make it more affordable for your event. It is a good idea to compare more than one facility, even if you love the first one you visit. Many times, these organizations will compete with each other to ensure you are going to work with them on the other guy. Choose your dream location based on what it offers to you.
