Tips for At-Home Wedding

When it comes to wedding, choosing wedding venue is a problem that needs careful consideration. If your family has an amazing lakeside house or a perfect country cottage, why don’t consider having an at-home wedding? The houses must have many of your childhood memory. Now, you select it as your wedding place, it must become more memorable. However, if you have decided that you will hold wedding at home, there are a lot of things that you should know in advance. Plan a wedding is not an easy thing.

First, ensure there will be enough space for all the guests. If not, you had to trim the guest list. If you plan to have a combination of indoor and outdoor activity, care about the weather and have a plan B for the worst weather. Make sure everyone can stay indoors in the rainy day. Besides wedding room, make sure that has enough parking room for guests. Make sure there is enough street space for parking or nearby schools or churches.

Second, you should need help from others. To do all the things alone is impossible. You can hire professional wedding planner and team to give you some ideas. And usually, they also provide service during the wedding. Or you can call some families and friends to help you. Before the wedding, they can discuss the wedding theme and decoration with you. During the wedding, they can cover other aspects: cooking, parking cars and cleaning up. After the wedding, you certainly need to thank them. As your besties, they must be happy to help you.

Thirdly, make a detailed plan as early as you can. In the plan, you should list the number of guests, ensure venue setup, and decide the cuisine. Then you can know where and when to prepare these wedding things. You need to rent a lot of things for the wedding, like tables, chairs, dinnerware, napkins, table linens, place settings, barware, and portable bathrooms. Rent enough chairs so everyone can be seated for the ceremony. The food should be abundant for all the guests.

Fourthly, ensure the ground is level. You don’t want to place the tables and chairs on the uneven ground. That will be very uncomfortable and inconvenient. Check the ground in advance. If the ground is not level, put down a foundation. Otherwise, it’s easy to get tripped for people and wedding cake.

Lastly, let your neighbors know you wedding in advance. They may plan a party at the same day. They may mow the lawn at the same day. Let them know in advance. And ask if they can offer their driveways for the extra parking space that day.
