Groomsmen Gifts – Knock ‘Em Out

If you’re a guy that is getting married in a few months, someone has probably said “Hey, what are you getting for groomsmen gifts?” You are startled at the question. You mean I have to shop? Yes, you sure do. It is traditional for the groom to give his wedding attendants something as a thank you. Your wedding party spends a lot of time, effort and money to participate in your wedding. Of course, you have to thank them. And, not just thank them verbally, it is customary for the groom to thank them for personalized groomsmen gifts.

Popular groomsman gifts include such manly items as the following: liquor flasks, beer mugs, pub signs, coasters, lighters, multitools, pocket knives, pocket watches, cufflinks, wallets, money clips, baseball bats, cigarette cases and cigar holders. Any of those gifts has been cool for decades and are something that you can’t go wrong if you give out to your guys. If you have extra time, try to think of something else to be different. But that really isn’t necessary. If you go with traditional men’s gifts, everyone will love them and you will have bought the right thing.

Be sure to order these as quickly as possible. The time to place an order for customized gifts is not the week before the wedding. High rush fees will cost you almost as much as your gifts if you choose to procrastinate. Give yourself a few months, if possible, so that there is plenty of time to engrave the gifts and plenty of time for shipping.

Have a list of your guy’s full names handy. This means first name, middle name and last name. You might get engraving of the guys initials or perhaps a monogram. At the very least you will have all the names right in front of you and you won’t make a spelling error. That is the worst. You sure don’t want to spell your best friend’s name wrong because you were rushing.

Once your groomsmen gifts arrive, the best time to distribute them is really at the rehearsal dinner. You are supposed to give out the gifts before the wedding. The wedding is your day and yours alone. Don’t stress about other people and their gifts on your big day. The rehearsal dinner is the last time all you guys are together before the wedding so be sure to take advantage of it.
