Making Up

A bride’s make-up should be natural, long-lasting and waterproof – and appear great in pictures! Here, acclaimed make-up artist Victoria Murueva gives some major tips on bridal make-up that will create a stunning look on the day, and identifies the look chosen for the stunning new bride pictured below

Every bride should get into a good skincare regime in the months running up to the special day. Get into the habit of cleaning, toning and hydrating. Exfoliating is important in order for you smooth perfect skin. Exfoliate your skin at least two times every week. This can eliminate any dead, dried-out skin and helps to make the skin look a lot more refined. When the skin has any kind of dried areas at all, a foundation will help make all these places more visible. Just use products and solutions made for the face area, for a body exfoliator will be too abrasive.

On your big day (and every other day) it is essential to wear the right colour of foundation. Your face needs to be the very same colour as your body. Using a foundation that is too dark for the skin tone could be ageing and this will be tougher to make the skin look clean and faultless. several ways to warm-up the complexion with a more natural result, ie blush etc. I select the ideal color of foundation for the bride-to-be simply by testing one small bit around the spot just below the mouth and in between the chin and jaw. This is actually the best place to test it. The color ought to practically fade away. This is how you recognize it’s the suitable tone. When you can see the colour sitting on the skin it’s almost certainly too dark or too light.

Foundation is obviously best applied with a brush. You get the right from your foundation this way. It allows very good coverage and works the foundation into the skin and provides it much more staying power. You don’t need to use a quite heavy foundation in case you are prone to various breakouts in some areas. The women find that they have got breakouts around the chin area. Normally, this is hormonal. It doesn’t necessarily mean you must use an extremely heavy coverage foundation. You can continue to use a light to medium coverage and use a concealer to give the additional coverage only where it can be needed. A small amount of concealer below the eyes will take away any kind of dark shadows and disguise any signs of a sleepless night. A concealer work a lot better than a foundation underneath the eye as the skin is finer and much more clear and a certain amount of more cover. Concealer contains additional pigment so that you just a need a little. I personally use concealer on the eyelids too to take down any sort of irregular color. I set the concealer having a powder to make it for eye make-up. The powder holds the eye make-up in place and stops every eye darkness from creasing.

Top guidelines

Apply lip definer with the mouth closed to avoid the liner bleeding. Opening the mouth means the lips are overstretched and too much liner will be applied, hence the bleeding.

Use a lipstick on your wedding in opposition to gloss to save lips looking colourless and washed out.

Use a more dark tone on the out parts of the eyebrow to make sure it looks like you have a full brow on the wedding photos.

Contour with a bronzer and use blusher on the apple of the cheek.

Take advantage of lip definer to line and fill in lips as helps lipstick stay in place for longer.

Don’t go over shiny using eyeshadow and never apply on the brow bone as it gives too much of a flashback effect on your wedding images.

Hold the mascara off the bottom lash line as it creates a line of shadow on your images.

As a substitute for black or brown eyeliner pick bronze or graphite as they reflect light and they are less absorbing.
