During the mid-17th century to the beginning of the 19th century, the €bride’s pie€ was served at most weddings. The tradition behind the bride’s pie was to place a glass ring in the middle of the cake and then was served to the female guests. There was a belief who would get the slice of a pie with the ring would be the next one to marry, similar to the modern tradition of catching the flower bouquet.

The wedding cake at a wedding is as important as a wedding dress and bouquet.

These days, the tradition of cutting the cake as a couple is ever more popular. During cutting the groom places his hand over the bride to symbolize the continuity of their relationship and promises to support and feed her lifetime and the bride allows the groom’s hand on top of her to show her trust and promises to remain faithful towards her duties.
