Top Wedding Accessories for Your Hair

One of the things that might get pushed to the back of your mind when planning your wedding, are the accessories you will need to complete your look. They will actually become more of a consideration the closer you get to your big day, however: small details like what shoes you will wear, how you will do your makeup, and what sort of wedding accessories you will need for your hair can make a big difference.

When it comes to the hair for your special day, one thing you obviously need to consider first is how you are going to style it. Are you going to go for a dramatic up-do? Or are you considering something loose and softly styled? Whilst making up your mind on these things and more, consider the look of the venue, any themes you may have and the dress itself – sometimes with all of these elements considered, you only need the simplest wedding accessories for your hair.

Small and subtle

Some brides like a little bit of sparkle to set off their up do and to add elegance to their look. To achieve this with wedding accessories for your hair, consider getting small clips with a diamond or a pearl to slip into the finished up do to set it off delightfully. If you are having a beach wedding in a warm climate, diamonds might be a bit much, however, so you could consider pinning a simple flower – natural or artificial – into your hair to create a cohesive look with the theme of the wedding. To really set this off, choose one of the lesser-used flowers of your bouquet to highlight your hair without it being overpowering. For something more overt and sparkly, why not use a comb or clasp that has an elegant top or handle with a variety of stones that you can tailor to complement the wedding colours or theme – perhaps even shells or small stones.

Veils and headbands

If you have decided you want to make your wedding accessories for your hair a major feature of your look on your big day, why not go for a full veil? These can be intricate items that need to be dramatically lifted from your face at the altar, or they can take a simpler form where they cover the upper part of the face or just drape of the back of the hair. Veils can be augmented with stones, pearls, or other pieces of jewellery to create a look that catches the light and provides an extra dimension to the look.

If a veil seems a bit too traditional, but you still want a hair accessory that is more prominent than a subtly placed stone, consider headbands for a vintage look. These are quite versatile and can be worn with your hair down or partially down; they can be as big and bright or as soft and small as you can imagine, making it easy to choose the perfect look just for you.
